The dual-task challenge of remembering card positions while flipping them engages cognitive load theory, making children practice retention under pressure, which enhances their memory capacity.
1. Gather 16 cards (old greeting cards or cut paper). 2. Write matching pairs of words or images on 8 cards. 3. Shuffle and lay the cards face down in a 4x4 grid. 4. Take turns flipping over two cards at a time to find pairs. 5. If a match is made, keep the pair and go again; if not, turn them back. 6. Continue until all pairs are matched — who found the most?
