Engaging in a relay format creates a time-sensitive challenge that sharpens focus and memory retrieval. The excitement of a race taps into embodied cognition, linking physical movement with cognitive tasks, making memory tasks more dynamic and memorable.
1. Create 12 card pairs using paper, each with a different drawing or number. 2. Shuffle and lay them face down in a grid. 3. Choose a partner to race against. On 'go!', flip over two cards at a time, trying to find a match. 4. If you find a match, keep the pair and continue. If not, turn them back over. 5. After 1 minute, count your matched pairs. Can your partner match or beat you? 6. Switch roles and see who can remember better!
