Searching for letters in various forms reinforces letter identification through embodied cognition. The physical act of locating letters allows children to connect visual symbols to their meanings, enhancing retention and recall.
Try it with your learner
1. Grab a large piece of cardboard or paper. 2. Set a timer for 15 minutes and search your home for objects with letters (books, packaging, etc.). 3. Cut out or take pictures of at least 10 different letters. 4. Arrange the letters in an artistic way on the cardboard. 5. Glue or tape them down once satisfied with the layout. 6. Share your typography collage with family and explain your design choices.
