      Why It Works

      The learning connection

The embodied cognition principle applies here as children engage in a tactile activity that embodies their feelings of friendship. The physical act of creating a gift helps cement the emotional value of kindness, making the lesson memorable and impactful.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather colorful thread or yarn, scissors, and beads (if available). 2. Cut three pieces of thread, each about 30 cm long. 3. Tie the threads together with a knot at one end. 4. Braid the threads together, adding beads if you want. 5. Once you reach the desired length, tie another knot and trim excess thread. 6. Gift the bracelet to a friend or family member and share why they are special to you!
