      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Visual reminders, like the kindness jars, utilize dual coding theory by pairing actions with physical representations. This reinforces memory of kind actions and encourages children to integrate these behaviors into their daily lives through embodied cognition.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather 3 jars, colored paper, and markers. 2. Label each jar with different themes: 'For Family', 'For Friends', 'For Strangers'. 3. Write down at least 5 kind acts on the colored paper (e.g., helping Amma cook, sharing toys with Bhaiya). 4. Fold each paper and place it in the corresponding jar. 5. Choose one act daily to perform and check it off with a smiley face. 6. At the end of the week, reflect on how these acts made you and others feel!
