      The learning connection

By visually tracking water consumption, children engage in self-monitoring, reinforcing the cognitive load theory — they learn to manage their hydration without feeling overwhelmed by complex calculations.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather 4 empty glass jars and label them with times (8 AM, 12 PM, 4 PM, 8 PM). 2. Fill each jar with the amount of water you plan to drink by each time. 3. Use a measuring cup to pour water from the jars into your glass throughout the day. 4. Mark each time you finish a glass with a sticker or a tick on a paper. 5. At the end of the day, count how many glasses you drank. 6. Discuss with your family how you felt and if you want to improve tomorrow!
