      The learning connection

Embodied cognition theory suggests that acting out scenarios helps solidify concepts. By simulating shopping, children experience the process of making decisions about needs and wants, enhancing their financial literacy through practical application.

      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather 5 items from your kitchen (like fruits, snacks, or groceries). 2. Create price tags for each item using paper, writing a price between ₹5-₹20. 3. Set up a small table as your grocery store, displaying the items. 4. Give your child ₹50 in play money (use real coins if available). 5. Take turns being the shopper and the shopkeeper, practicing buying and selling. 6. Discuss which items were needs and which were wants after the shopping!
