      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Using a gratitude jar aligns with Vygotsky's scaffolding principles, as children can build on their understanding of gratitude through repeated reflection. Physically creating something tangible engages their senses, making the learning experience memorable.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather a clean jar or container and colorful paper. 2. Cut the paper into small squares (about 5 cm each). 3. Sit together with your parent and think of 5 things you're grateful for. 4. Write each gratitude note on a square of paper. 5. Fold the notes and place them in the jar. 6. Decorate the jar with stickers or drawings to make it special.
