By incorporating physical activity with breath control, children engage in embodied cognition. As they breathe deeply to inflate the balloon, they learn to manage distractions and anchor their attention, fostering a calm mindset conducive to concentration.
1. Get a balloon and stretch it a few times. 2. Take a deep breath in through your nose. 3. Slowly blow air into the balloon, filling it up. 4. Notice how your body feels as the balloon expands. 5. Release the air slowly and feel focus returning as it shrinks. 6. Repeat 3 times, trying to take deeper breaths each time.
