      The learning connection

Engaging in a physical relay promotes embodied cognition, where the body's movement enhances mental focus. By using a game-like format, children feel motivated and invested in maintaining their concentration across the relay.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Find a small soft ball (like a sponge ball) to use as your fireball. 2. Gather 3 family members and form a line, standing 2 steps apart. 3. Start by placing the fireball in the first person's hands. 4. Without dropping it, pass the ball to the next person in line. 5. If it drops, restart from the beginning! Aim to pass it without any drops for 2 minutes. 6. Discuss how you can improve your focus for the next round.
