This activity immerses children in role-play to cultivate empathy. Experiencing different perspectives helps them understand and respect others' emotions and situations.
Role-playing activates embodied cognition, allowing children to physically act out scenarios, deepening their emotional connection to the experiences of others. This enhances their ability to relate and respond compassionately in real-life situations.
1. Gather 3-4 everyday scenarios (e.g., sibling fighting over a toy). 2. Assign roles: one child acts as the main character, others as supporting roles. 3. Act out the scenario, expressing how each character feels. 4. Discuss how each character could resolve the conflict or help each other. 5. Switch roles and repeat the activity with a new scenario. 6. Reflect on how understanding others' feelings can change our actions.
