Embodied cognition asserts that physical actions can influence mental states. By acting out emotions, children create a direct connection between their feelings and physical expressions, reinforcing their ability to recognize and regulate emotions.
1. Gather family members and sit in a circle. 2. Write down 5 emotions on separate pieces of paper (happy, sad, angry, excited, scared). 3. Take turns picking an emotion and act it out without speaking. 4. Everyone else guesses the emotion being expressed. 5. Discuss how each emotion feels and what triggers it. 6. Create a mini emotion dance where you combine motions for different feelings!
