      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Structuring talks using a clear beginning, middle, and end supports cognitive load management, making it easier for children to organize their thoughts. Vygotsky’s scaffolding principle comes into play as they receive immediate feedback from the audience, guiding improvements.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Choose a topic you love, like your favorite animal or hobby. 2. Write an outline with 3 main points you want to cover. 3. Prepare a short speech (2-3 minutes) using your outline. 4. Practice your talk in front of a mirror or to a family member. 5. Deliver your mini TED talk to your family, using gestures and voice modulation. 6. Ask for feedback on what you did well and what you can improve.
