This activity utilizes embodied cognition, as children express emotions through colors they can visually manipulate. Creating and discussing their Mood Color Wheel enhances their emotional vocabulary, making feelings more relatable and manageable.
1. Gather a large sheet of paper, colors, and a ruler. 2. Draw a big circle and divide it into 8 equal sections. 3. Choose a color for each emotion (like blue for sad, yellow for happy). 4. Color each section accordingly, adding words that represent those feelings. 5. Discuss each emotion with family — when do you feel these? 6. Hang your Mood Color Wheel somewhere visible to remind you of your feelings.
