      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Engaging in a treasure hunt creates an intrinsically motivating challenge, supporting Vygotsky's scaffolding principle. As children uncover clues and organize their discoveries, they practice categorizing information and developing critical thinking skills in a digital context.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Create a folder on your computer named 'Treasure Hunt'. 2. Fill it with 5 files: 1 image of your favorite animal, 1 PDF about a festival, 1 short video clip, 1 song, and 1 document with a riddle. 3. Write clues for each file, guiding players to the correct folders. 4. Share the folder link with your family members. 5. Time how long it takes them to find all the treasures using your clues. 6. Discuss what strategies worked best during the hunt.
