Applying Bruner's CPA (Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract) approach, children start with tangible experiences — finding problems — and gradually move to abstract thinking about possible solutions. This hands-on exploration fosters deep engagement and cognitive development.
1. Gather 3-5 household items that you think can solve everyday problems. 2. Write down a short problem each item can address (like a broken toy or too many books). 3. Set a timer for 10 minutes and search your house for these problems. 4. For each problem, think of an innovative solution using the items you gathered. 5. Share your findings with a family member and discuss your creative solutions. 6. Choose one solution to implement together!
