This activity helps children recognize and understand different emotions. By embodying feelings, they develop empathy and learn to respond appropriately to others.
Embodied cognition allows children to connect physical expressions with emotional concepts. Acting out emotions helps solidify understanding through experience, enhancing their ability to empathize with others.
1. Write down 5 different emotions on small slips of paper (happy, sad, angry, surprised, scared). 2. Fold the slips and place them in a bowl. 3. Take turns picking a slip and acting out the emotion without speaking. 4. The other player guesses the emotion being acted out. 5. Discuss situations when people feel that way and how to respond. 6. Can you create a story that includes all these emotions?
