This activity leverages embodied cognition, as children physically engage with their environment to discover stories. By connecting emotions to real-life situations, they internalize these feelings, enhancing their ability to empathize with others.
1. Create a list of emotions: happy, sad, angry, surprised, and scared. 2. Go to your home or neighborhood and find objects or scenes representing each emotion. 3. Take a photo or draw each object you find. 4. For each emotion, share a short story about why you chose that object. 5. Discuss how each story makes you feel and why. 6. Reflect: which emotion do you find the easiest or hardest to understand?
