Role-playing engages children cognitively and emotionally, aligning with Vygotsky's scaffolding. By stepping into different characters, they practice empathy through embodied cognition, translating feelings into actions.
1. Write down 5 different emotions on slips of paper (happy, sad, angry, scared, excited). 2. Fold and place them in a bowl. 3. Gather as a family and set a timer for 10 minutes. 4. Take turns picking a slip and acting out the emotion without speaking. 5. Other family members guess the emotion and suggest a real-life scenario related to it. 6. Discuss how the person acting might feel in that situation.
