      The learning connection

By engaging in empathy mapping, children utilize Vygotsky's scaffolding, as they articulate and expand their understanding of others' emotions. This reflective process enhances their ability to connect with diverse social contexts, deepening their interpersonal skills.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Draw a large circle in the center of a sheet of paper for the person's name. 2. Create four quadrants around the circle: 'Says', 'Thinks', 'Feels', 'Does'. 3. Choose a real-life figure or someone you know. Write their name in the center. 4. Fill in each quadrant with thoughts, feelings, and actions from that person's perspective. 5. Discuss with a partner how this perspective differs from your own. 6. Reflect on how understanding their viewpoint changes your feelings about them.
