      Why It Works

      The learning connection

The tangible act of filling jars with kindness creates a visual representation of empathy. According to Bruner's CPA approach, this concrete activity helps children internalize abstract concepts of kindness and empathy through physical engagement and reflection.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather 2 small jars and some colored paper. 2. Cut the paper into small strips for writing. 3. Write down 5 acts of kindness you can do this week on the strips. 4. Fold the strips and place them in one jar as your 'Kindness Jar'. 5. Each day, pick one act from your jar and perform it. 6. At the end of the week, share your experiences and feelings about the acts with your family.
