Embodied cognition allows children to understand emotions physically by acting them out, creating a visceral experience of empathy. This type of learning connects emotions with physical actions, making the abstract more concrete.
1. Write down 5 different emotions (happy, sad, angry, surprised, scared) on separate paper pieces. 2. Fold the papers and place them in a bowl. 3. Take turns picking a paper and acting out the emotion without speaking. 4. The other person guesses the emotion being acted out. 5. Discuss a time when you felt that emotion and what made you feel it. 6. Switch roles and repeat with new emotions.
