Role-playing encourages embodied cognition, allowing children to physically experience emotions. This method deepens their understanding of empathy, as they learn to relate to others' feelings in real-life situations.
1. Write down different emotions on pieces of paper (happy, sad, angry, surprised). 2. Fold them and place them in a bowl. 3. Take turns drawing a paper from the bowl. 4. Act out the emotion without using words while others guess it. 5. Discuss how each emotion feels and why it's important to understand them. 6. Can you think of a time when you felt this way?
