Using embodied cognition, acting out emotions allows children to physically connect with their feelings. This kinesthetic approach helps encode emotional awareness in their memory, making it easier to identify emotions in themselves and others.
1. Write down a list of emotions on paper (e.g., happy, sad, angry, excited). 2. Cut the list into separate pieces and fold them. 3. Place them in a bowl and mix well. 4. Take turns picking a piece of paper and acting out the emotion without speaking. 5. The others must guess the emotion being acted out. 6. Discuss what situations might cause those emotions after each round.
