By embodying emotions through acting, children engage in embodied cognition, connecting physical actions with emotional understanding. This helps them internalize feelings and learn to regulate their own emotions through social interaction.
1. Write down 8 emotions on slips of paper (happy, sad, angry, etc.). 2. Fold the slips and place them in a bowl. 3. Gather your family and explain the rules. 4. Take turns picking a slip and acting out the emotion without speaking. 5. The others will guess the emotion in under 30 seconds. 6. Discuss times when you felt that emotion and how you handled it.
