      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Engaging in film creation applies the principles of Bruner's CPA approach, where children can explore visual concepts through concrete actions, like shooting scenes with various angles, which strengthens their storytelling skills.

      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather a smartphone or camera, and choose 3 random household objects. 2. Write a short script (4-5 lines) involving the objects as characters. 3. Set up your scene using a table or floor as a backdrop. 4. Film each part of the script from at least two different angles. 5. Edit the clips together using a free app like InShot. 6. Share your movie with family and discuss what stories the objects told!
