Utilizing Vygotsky's scaffolding, children actively engage in identifying their moods through a visual tool. This self-reflection process builds emotional vocabulary and supports mental health by encouraging dialogue about feelings.
1. Gather a paper plate, colors, and a pencil. 2. Divide the plate into 6 sections and label each with a different emotion (happy, sad, angry, surprised, calm, excited). 3. Color each section with corresponding colors (e.g., yellow for happy). 4. Each evening, reflect and color the section that represents your mood for the day. 5. Discuss your feelings with your family during dinner. 6. Keep your mood wheel visible to remind you of your emotional journey.
