      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Retelling stories requires cognitive organization of ideas, enhancing comprehension and verbal expression. By using Vygotsky's scaffolding, children receive support to articulate thoughts while engaging in a social context, making the learning process interactive and enjoyable.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Choose a story you love, like a fairy tale or fable. 2. Write down key events on paper — at least 5. 3. Hide objects around the house representing those events (toys, books). 4. Invite your family to find the objects as you tell the story. 5. While sharing, add your own twists or funny voices for characters! 6. After the story, ask family members what their favorite part was.
