Using Bruner's CPA approach, children first create a concrete representation of their kingdom, then represent it pictorially, and finally abstract it into a map. Engaging in this process aids retention and understanding of map symbols and geography.
1. Gather large paper, colored markers, and a ruler. 2. Draw a big rectangle for your kingdom's borders. 3. Mark important landmarks like mountains, rivers, and towns with symbols. 4. Label each landmark with its name. 5. Color in different areas to represent forests, fields, and lakes. 6. Share your kingdom map with family and discuss its features.
