Engaging in maze creation leverages embodied cognition, as children physically manipulate objects and visualize routes. The iterative process of solving and modifying the maze also utilizes Vygotsky's scaffolding, as they build on their initial solutions.
1. Gather 10-15 small items like books, toys, or pillows. 2. Arrange them on the floor to create a maze. 3. Draw a start and finish point on paper. 4. Guide a toy or a ball from start to finish without lifting it. 5. Adjust the maze based on difficulty — can it be made harder? 6. Share your maze with a family member to solve!
