Visual reminders, like the kindness jar, promote self-regulation and encourage children to actively seek and perform kind acts. This taps into Vygotsky's scaffolding by allowing children to reflect on social behavior and learn from their experiences.
1. Find an empty jar and clean it thoroughly. 2. Collect colorful paper or sticky notes. 3. Write one act of kindness you did each day on a note and place it in the jar. 4. Decorate the jar with stickers or drawings to make it special. 5. Share your notes with family every week during dinner. 6. How did you feel after sharing your kind acts?
