      The learning connection

Visual storytelling engages children's creativity while promoting critical thinking about social issues. By using the Bruner's CPA approach, children move from concrete experiences to abstract concepts, enabling them to construct meaningful narratives about their role in the community.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Take an A3 sheet of paper and fold it into 6 sections. 2. Choose a local community issue you care about, like littering or helping the elderly. 3. In the first section, draw a picture of the problem. 4. In the next sections, sketch your ideas for solutions and actions you can take. 5. Share your storyboard with your family and discuss the importance of community service. 6. Reflect on how you can get involved with your local community.
