Try it with your learner
1. Create a chessboard using a cardboard box and 64 squares drawn with a marker. 2. Use buttons, coins, or paper cutouts as pieces (16 for each side). 3. Decide who plays as white and black. 4. Take turns making moves, explaining your thought process for each move aloud. 5. After the game, discuss which strategies worked best and why. 6. Challenge each other to a rematch with new strategies!
