Incorporating movement into memory tasks taps into embodied cognition, making recall more effective. Each time children race to find a match, they reinforce their memory pathways through physical and mental engagement.
1. Use 12 pairs of identical cards (like playing cards or cut-out pictures). 2. Shuffle and lay them face down in a grid. 3. On 'Go!', turn over two cards to find a match, then flip them back if they don't match. 4. Run back to your starting point after each attempt. 5. Keep track of your matches on paper. 6. Challenge family members to beat your time and matches!
