Utilizing a dual-task approach — remembering card positions while flipping — engages cognitive load theory effectively. The challenge of finding pairs keeps children focused and encourages strategic thinking.
1. Take 12 cards and write pairs of numbers on them (1-6). 2. Shuffle the cards and lay them face down in a grid. 3. Choose two cards to flip over, trying to find a match. 4. If they match, keep them and take another turn; if not, flip them back. 5. Continue until all pairs are found. 6. Count how many turns it took — can you beat your record next time?
