Dual-task challenges engage children by requiring them to remember and focus simultaneously. This taps into Vygotsky's scaffolding, as they build on existing memory skills while receiving immediate feedback on their matches.
1. Take 12 identical pieces of paper and draw different shapes on 6 of them. 2. Shuffle the papers and lay them face down in a grid (3x4). 3. Set a timer for 1 minute — can you find matching pairs? 4. Flip two cards at a time, trying to remember their locations. 5. If they match, keep them; if not, turn them back. 6. Count how many pairs you found when time's up — can you beat your record next time?
