Mindful breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which calms the body and mind. By incorporating movement like imagining blowing bubbles, children leverage embodied cognition to make breathing techniques tangible and memorable.
1. Sit comfortably on the floor with legs crossed. 2. Pretend you have a bubble wand and take a deep breath in. 3. As you exhale, gently blow out to create imaginary bubbles. 4. Count how many bubbles you can blow out — try for 10! 5. Repeat this for 5 rounds, feeling your body relax more each time. 6. Share with your family how breathing made you feel and if your stress reduced.
