The connection between breathing patterns and mental focus is supported by embodied cognition. As children physically engage in breath control, they learn to associate deep breathing with calmness, enhancing their attention span and reducing distractions.
1. Inflate 3 balloons and tie them securely. 2. Find a flat, open space to work in. 3. Take a deep breath and blow gently on a balloon to keep it afloat. 4. Challenge yourself to keep it in the air for 30 seconds without using your hands. 5. Repeat with the other balloons, changing your breathing technique each time. 6. Discuss with your family how different breathing affects balloon control.
