Engaging in stop-motion animation taps into embodied cognition, as children manipulate physical objects in a sequence. This hands-on approach not only fosters creativity but also allows them to visualize and understand motion through iterative practice.
1. Gather 5 small toys or action figures you want to animate. 2. Set up a flat surface with good lighting. 3. Place your first toy in the starting position. 4. Move the toy slightly and take a photo with your phone or camera. 5. Repeat moving the toy and taking a photo for 10–15 frames. 6. Play back the photos as a video to see your animation come to life!
