      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Using Bruner's CPA approach, children first create a concrete storyboard, then use pictorial elements to express complex ideas. This multisensory engagement helps them grasp narrative structure while drawing connections between images and story elements.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Take 5 sheets of paper and fold each in half to create a booklet. 2. Choose a simple story or create one with a beginning, middle, and end. 3. For each page, draw a key scene from your story. 4. Label each scene with a short sentence explaining what happens. 5. Decorate your storyboard with colors or stickers to make it lively. 6. Share your storyboard with family and explain the story behind each scene.
