      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Sudoku challenges utilize cognitive load theory by requiring children to hold multiple pieces of information in mind while they deduce placements. This engages their working memory and helps them practice problem-solving in a fun, game-like environment.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Draw a 4x4 grid on paper, creating 16 squares. 2. Choose 4 different animal stickers or drawings (like lion, elephant, tiger, and monkey). 3. Randomly place 4 animal stickers in the grid, ensuring no row or column has duplicates. 4. Fill in the remaining squares by deducing which animals can go where. 5. Once finished, check your grid to ensure all animals are placed correctly. 6. Share your completed Sudoku with family members and challenge them to solve it!
